My Journey

My Journey

My professional journey has taken me through different worlds: business and finance, international leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, advisory work, education and social engagement.

They may appear diverse. To me, they are connected by a consistent thread: curiosity, learning, people and the desire to turn ideas into action.

Learning from the ground up

I began with practical commercial training, learning how organisations work from the inside: customers and markets, sales and finance, operations and the people behind them.

That foundation led to broader responsibilities in international organisations and, over time, to leadership roles spanning functions, countries and cultures.

Throughout that journey, learning has remained a constant.

I have never considered my education finished.

Management studies and executive education broadened my perspective, while more recent learning has taken me into innovation, facilitation, technology and new approaches to turning ideas into action.

For me, continuous learning is less about qualifications than about remaining curious, challenging established assumptions and connecting new thinking with practical experience.

The more experience I have gained, the more important that curiosity has become.

From leading to building

Over time, my journey moved beyond established organisations into entrepreneurship.

Building businesses and ventures brought together many of the disciplines I had encountered before: strategy and finance, customers and sales, partnerships and people, innovation and execution.

It reinforced a simple conviction:

Ideas matter. Making them work matters more.

That experience continues to shape the way I work with entrepreneurs, executives and organisations today.

Different worlds. Connected experience.

What connects them?

I am particularly interested in situations where the answer is not immediately obvious.

Where complexity needs clarity.

Where different perspectives need to be connected.

Where choices have to be made.

And where ideas need to become action.

Today, I bring these experiences together as an advisor, entrepreneur, mentor and educator, working across business, innovation, education and social engagement.

My detailed professional chronology is available on LinkedIn.

This website is about something slightly different: sharing the perspectives, questions and lessons that have emerged along the way.
